Television’s favorite squad of detectives is back on the case in the thrilling third season of Major Crimes, the powerful crime drama that ranks as one of basic cable’s Top 10 original series. The elite team is back, headed by two-time Oscar® nominee Mary McDonnell as Los Angeles Police Captain Sharon Raydor, along with G.W. Bailey as Lieutenant Provenza, Tony Denison as Lieutenant Andy Flynn, Michael Paul Chan as Lieutenant Mike Tao, Raymond Cruz as Detective Julio Sanchez, Kearran Giovanni as Detective Amy Sykes, Phillip P. Keene as tech expert Buzz Watson, Jonathan Del Arco as Dr. Morales and Robert Gossett as Assistant Chief Russell Taylor. Plus, Graham Patrick Martin returns as Rusty Beck, the homeless teen and material witness taken in by Captain Raydor. The hit series shows law enforcement officers and prosecutors working together to score a conviction, with the team diving into some of the most captivating crimes.

She could act; I just haated her. DDA Rios is gone becuse James Duff listens to his fans. DDA Hobbs is in the house! YAY!
Possibly one of the strongest casts on TV. Love Rusty's storyline.
Also love the unplanned Ship that works perfectly.
The only problem is making sure viewers truly understand THIS ISN'T THE CLOSER. Sharon is the main star, Rusty is her family.
Kyra wanted to retire, please respect that and see this show as a standalone. Brenda isn't coming back. At risk of sounding snarky, neither is the cast of Battle Star Galactica. Let Brenda go and you may come to the same conclusion I did: as a while: Major Crime is a better show with more opportunities for the rest of the cast far less gore. I won't deny: I liked The Closer, I love Major Crimes.
love major crimes wish brenda would do a guest spot still love major crimes
I really think this show is underrated. The actors are very natural in their approach and I notice this compared to when I watch other "darker"crime shows. The stories are well done and give you an idea as to how difficult it is for the police to proceed in certain cases (ie should we notify the mother of the death of her children yet because that could jeapordize solving the case. It is these types of intricate decisions that you don't see on other crime shows.
I don't watch a lot of tv. I thought the Closer was pretty good. I did not think it was good enough to buy any episodes until the last season. The last season of the Closer was very well done. Major Crimes is a step up. Season 1 a small step up. Seasons 2 and 3 a step up from season 1. High quality storytelling.
“Down the Drain” was well worth it. Once again, I came to the end of the episode, wanting it to continue! The story about the baby was touching, and the solution to the adoption, PERFECT! And of course, Sharon and Rusty finally becoming a family brought even more tears of joy. I’ve missed the show, and glad to be reunited with the cast! And just in time for Thanksgiving. I love my Major Crimes Family!!
Last year’s episodes were cheesy and too mushy. This year it seems like there are new writers. The plots are more original, the dialog is crisper and there is less focus on the Sharon/Rusty relationship. Congrats to the writers and producers on an excellent mid-course correction.
To people who are complaining, the price is for 19 episodes. 10 during the summer and 9 during the winter. Great show!
I’d love to watch the newest episode but I can’t choose the SD version and I won’t pay the $3 for the HD. Anyone know why??
Wish I could download the latest episode, but I won’t pay for the HD option...
I loved the Closer and I like Major Crimes a lot as well, even though the writers are considerably more heavy handed with their “messages” in this series. I’m hoping that the Rusty character will become considerably less whiny this season as it was a bit out of control during season 2. There’s only so much one can take and I often found myself fast-forwarding through his whine-a-thons to make it through certain episodes. I’m guessing he’ll be part of the staff before long or is being groomed for a show of his own. Mary McDonnell is a great actress, but her voice is can be quite soporific at times. Great cast.
As much as I love watching Raydor and her merry band of crime solvers, the pricing is getting a TAD ridiculous. All the other networks have their summer shows priced in the twenty dollar range yet TNT shows are in the thirties? At least offer a discount before the season starts. Summer shows are like 15 episodes max. No reason they should cost as much as a fall show with 22.
